This is a collection of recent work of oil paintings and large watercolours. I am interested in the mark made, whether it is continuous or discontinuous, as in nature. I am fascinated by borders and how as human beings we try to impose the discontinuous, houses, buildings, counties, countries etc, onto our natural environment. “… the diversity of species furnishes man with the most intuitive image at his disposal, and constitutes the most direct manifestation he can perceive, of the ultimate discontinuity of the real. It is the sensory expression of an objective coding.” (Claude Levi Strauss, Wild Thought, p155).
